My name is Joshua Starner and this is my eighth year teaching at McAuliffe! I have taught 5th grade for six years, with a year of 3rd/4th grade as well. I got my teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and spent a couple years as a substitute teacher in Madison before moving to Green Bay.
When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my wife, Christina, and my two children, Brayden and Leah. My wife and I enjoy going to movies and country music concerts. I'm also a big sports fan of the Packers, Bucks, Brewers and Badgers, and enjoy spending time running or biking with my family. This past summer my family and I made many roads trips in and just outside our state, including Madison, the Wisconsin State Fair, and many trips to Six Flags Great America!
I also spent some time this summer preparing for the upcoming school year by reading, learning, and refreshing my memory about the fourth grade curriculum. I attended some professional development as well to help familiarize myself with what I am teaching this year. I'm excited to take all of this new knowledge and see it come to life in my classroom!
Please feel free to contact me during the school year if you have any questions, concerns, or comments. I strongly believe in student, parents and teachers working together to help all students achieve to their highest possible level.
